Tantrisch Praktizierende nützen die Nuancen des alltäglichen Lebens als Gelegenheiten, die tatsächliche Bedeutung des buddhistischen Mittleren Weges zu praktizieren. Mit dieser Sicht und Praxis blicken sie auf die Mahasiddhas als ihre Vorväter und –mütter zurück, und auch auf die noch vorher lebenden Arhats, die Schüler des Buddha, die ersten wandernden, weisen Exzentriker – eine lebendige Linie der Belehrungen, die seit der Entstehung von Tantra im alten Indien ungebrochen ist. Die Nachkommen der Mahasiddhas leben auch in unserer Zeit, wie durch die Geschichten von Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche, die in Ngak’chang Rinpoche’s neuem Buch „Wisdom Eccentrics“ („Weisheits-Exzentriker“) erzählt werden, anschaulich wird. Der Text dieses Buches wird eine der Hauptquellen des Kurses sein.

Tantric practitioners use the nuances of everyday life as opportunities to practice the real meaning of the Buddhist Middle Way. In doing so, they look back to the Mahasiddhas as their forefathers and mothers, and before them the Buddha's Arhat disciples, the first wandering wisdom eccentrics; a living lineage of teaching unbroken since the dawn of Tantra in ancient India. The Mahasiddhas' descendants have continued into the present day, as illustrated in stories told by Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche in Ngak'chang Rinpoche's new book 'Wisdom Eccentrics'. This will be a main source text for the course.
Ngala Rig'dzin Dorje will also explain the practices described in some of the thousand year-old 'Lives of the Eighty Four Mahasiddhas'. These were historical men and women who became famous, across cultures, for transmuting the difficulties as well as the opportunities of their lives into practice, and gaining the highest results. Hence they became known, for example, as The Tired Farmer, The Eternal Student, The Happy Housewife, The Complacent Æsthete, The... mehr Epicurean Merchant, The Handsome Eccentric, The Mourning Widower, The Crazy Princess, The Exiled Loudmouth, and The Fearless Thief. The teachings describe how one can live the very same view as they did, in the most compelling circumstances we may face today.
The essential message of the Mahasiddhas lies beyond time and culture, and is as relevant now as it has been in every epoch. The authentic meaning of Tantra lies beyond text-chanting, elaborate symbolism, and the performance of cultural ritual forms. The method of the Mahasiddhas can be experienced through every aspect of phenomenal existence: through embracing emotions as the path; the dance of life situations; romantic relationship; and the very act of bare perception itself.
“We have always been enlightened.Our confusion is merely our fear of that fact. There is nothing more or less to 'what we are' than 'that' which is immediately apparent; but we seem unable to see it. Enlightenment is ours to see, hear, touch, smell, taste, and ideate; but all we seem to sense, is the shifting surface of that vastness.We see reflections, but are blind to the nature of the mirror. We see waves, but fail to experience the ocean. We see clouds, but cannot conceive of the sky.”
