During World War II, Chiune Sugihara who was in Kaunas in Lithuania as a Japanese consulate representative saved thousands of lifes of Jew who were being persecuted by the Nazis by issue the visas for them. He took this action by his own decision based on humanity against the Japanese government wishes. The visas issued by Chiune are now called ' Visas for Life' as not only thousand but hundreds of thousands people including their descendant are, as the result, saved their lives, and many of those Jewish people got success in their lives in various fields nowadays. Chiune was often called as Sempo Sugihara or Oriental Schindler in foreign countries.
