Alexis De Greiff A. Challenges of Failed Infrastructure Projects: Experiences from Latin America

Mainstream history and sociology of technology is concerned with the processes of innovation and stabilization of objects. However, most projects never come to fruition, or are pervasively unstable.

Prof. Dr. Alexis De Greiff A. (Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá) will argue that failed infrastructure projects involve mobilising a significant number of actants, while our case studies of successful projects turn some of them invisible. Hence, defeated infrastructures represent a challenge for technology studies and democratic practices alike.
