Berlin, Nationalsocialism: ..between populism and civil disobedience – in 1933 Jazz was kind of blacklisted in Germany! The music was rhetorically defamed under all rules of racism. But it had become indispensable to Berlin entertainment! Never entirely forbidden and partly yet officially supported, there was a threatening ambiguity. What was the regime`s strategy?
At the brink of the Berlin entertainment areas jazz life so was going on, in the New West the Swings and their dance dominated the scene. Who have they been, and what did the whole thing mean? And then Swing even got lost in Collaboration !-?
