Skin Deep In Zaraniya by slasheverything

In this consciousness-expanding sound and movement performance, slasheveverthing artistic director Sarah Grether (USA) and musical director Nikolas Schreck (USA) challenge the passive spectator´s boundaries by inviting audiences to cross mysterious borders into foreign lands of awakening. Exploring communication challenges and bridge-building between expatriates and natives, the audience become immigrants arriving at an otherworldly bureaucratic center to be repatriated and transformed into multi-faceted citizens of an unfamiliar nation via the experience. An international ensemble enact performative tasks in a live soundscape bringing participants into a deeper understanding of the immigrant phenomenon and the universal human impact of sound and movement. Through interactive "body interviews", senses are sharpened, communication skills are broadened, emotional inhibitions are worked through and visitors to this strange new realm travel far without ever leaving the theater.
