British Shorts Film Festival / Screening & Konzert - Festivaleröffnung und Filmscreenings / Englisch

Auch (und erst recht) im Jahr des drohenden Brexits bietet British Shorts filmischen Perspektiven abseits des Mainstreams eine Plattform und bringt international preisgekrönte Kurzfilme auf die Leinwände Berlins. Mit dabei sind zahlreiche Welt- und Deutschlandpremieren – von Drama, Comedy, Animation, Doku, Experi­men­tal­film, Musikvideo, Thriller bis Horror. Im Rahmen der Festivaleröffnung im HAU2 werden die für den Jurypreis nominierten Beiträge vorgestellt und ein Programmquerschnitt mit Werken aller Genres präsentiert. Im Anschluss an das Eröffnungs-Screening wird der Start in eine aufregende Filmwoche mit einem Konzert (tba) gefeiert. Das gesamte British Shorts Festivalprogramm vom 17.–23. Januar (neben dem HAU auch im Sputnik Kino, Acudkino, City Kino Wedding und Kino Zukunft) er­scheint Ende Dezember auf www.britishshorts.de.

Even (and especially) in the year of the looming Brexit, British Shorts provides a platform for film perspectives outside the mainstream, bringing internationally prize-winning short films to Berlin’s screens. The festival includes numerous world and German premieres – from drama, comedy, animation, documentary, experimental film, music video, thriller to horror. As part of the festival opening at HAU2 the nominations for the jury award will be presented, as well as a cross-section featuring works from all the genres. Following the opening screening, the start into an exciting week of films will be celebrated with a concert (tba).
