Tunnel Visions, presented by Ark Noir, is the conception of young, local artists, out to prove themselves in Munich’s growing musical subculture. This festival brings artists together with listeners in search of distinct moods in music. The sound of Tunnel Visions mixes electronic and acoustic instrumentalists & vocalists for a vivid evening of contemporary music. The event even takes place in a tunnel-like venue, Milla Club, a central hub of the city’s music scene.
Ark Noir
A Munich-based collective that defies most typical genre association, Ark Noir blends electronic- inspired beats with instrumental improvisation to create new sounds derived from a plethora of influences. Not necessarily a “dance band,“ Ark Noir co nsiders its music conducive to movement, capable of transmitting cinematic imagery into listeners’ minds.
SALOMEA
SALOMEA is the band and team around singer, composer and lyricist Rebekka Salomea. Creating new age songs with eccentric beats, prominent synth sounds and live effects, SALOMEA have worked and played their way to the very front of popular Avant-Garde. The sound is influenced by mainstream music, combined with the freedom and potential of improvisation and finally wrapped in quite complex compositional structures. SALOMEA experiments with sound and lyrics, expresses emotions and tells stories, creating paths beyond traditional structures of singing and songwriting. SALOMEA will challenge and expand your listening habits.
Their Debut-Album was released in June 2018 on KLAENGrecords.
C.O.W. 牛
C.O.W. 牛 are a German-Chinese electronic act and digital art project. Not only does their music reflect a new zeitgeist, but also their appearance and form. The identities of their members dissolve into the artistic persona C.O.W. 牛.
They produce and play mostly instrumental electronic music, which spans from obscure jazz interludes to electrified club beats. Therefore it is not a surprise that they’re signed to the legendary trip hop label Compost Records. C.O.W. 牛 gained international attention through features in Spotify’s Fresh Finds, Bandcamp Daily and on ARTE Tracks.
Their music is accompanied by a strong visual concept. Performing behind 8bit-pixel-masks and utilising their self-made visuals they provide for a rich live-experience which unfolds the strong persona of C.O.W. 牛.
Bold, cheeky and extravagant, these artists created their own genre – Internet. It is not easy to label C.O.W. 牛, but if you must you can place them between Flying Lotus and Hudson Mohawke and a more experimental KUSO GVKI. However, we recommend a special place for exceptional art and sick music!
