SYMPHONIE AVEC ORGUE
Artist in Residence
IVETA APKALNA | Orgel
RICCARDO MINASI | Dirigent
Johann Sebastian Bach | Orgelkonzert d-Moll BWV 1052a
Jean-Philippe Rameau | Suite aus der Oper »Les Boréades«
Camille Saint-Saëns | 3. Sinfonie (»Orgelsinfonie«)
Feuerwerk an Emotionen. Sie ist intim, traurig,
festlich zugleich, berührt die Seele ganz tief.«
Apkalnas Lieblingskomponist heißt aber trotzdem
ganz klar Johann Sebastian Bach: »Ich
sehe Bach als das tägliche Brot an. Man ›isst‹
es jeden Tag, und ich brauche es jeden Tag.«
Acoustically powerful, captivating, unique – these
words can be used to describe Camille Saint-
Saëns’ Symphony No. 3, known as the »Organ
Symphony«. The Latvian star organist Iveta
Apkalna, Titular Organist at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie
and »Artist in Residence« for this
hr concert season, also describes it as »a fireworks
of emotion. It is intimate, sad and
festive at the same time and moves the soul
deep inside.« Nevertheless, Apkalna’s favourite
composer is still without a doubt Johann
Sebastian Bach: »For me Bach is the daily
bread. Something to be ›eaten‹ every day and
I need it every day.«
