The charismatic trio around vocalist Sascha Ley – the winner of the Audience Choice Award at the Tremplin JAZZ d'Avignon 2009 - will not fail to surprise with their daring approach to an uninhibited and intimate jazz. With highly melodic lines and dynamic rhythmical moments, KALIMA’s songs are delicately settled between modern jazz and imaginary folklore, leading the audience through very distinctive and original harmonic moods and landscapes.
After last year’s release of their first album “Kalima” (2010) and performances at the renowned festivals of Viersen (D) and Crest (F), in France and Spain KALIMA are now off to the festival Jazz à Ouaga in Burkina Faso, Africa, in May 11. They are pleased to musically stop over at the Ancien Cinema and present new songs.
