Rico McClarrin and Marcos Coll started playing together when Rico joined Marcos’ band, ‘Los Reyes del Ko’ as a drummer. Soon afterwards, they decided to create their own project, with Rico being the lead singer.
Rico McClarrin is a drummer, singer and actor from Miami. As a drummer, he collaborated with such legends of music as, inter alia, Jaco Pastorious, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Sly Stone, Big Joe Turner. He is able to sing both in a style resembling the great Howling Wolf and more subtly, like it is the case in soul and gospel music.
Marcos Coll is the leader of Spanish Los Reyes del Ko, a band with which he played concerts all over the world, inter alia supporting such stars as Chuck Berry, Solomon Burke, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Buddy Guy, Animals. He also used to be a member of Tonky Blues Band, collaborating with such stars as, e.g. Buddy Miles, Mick Taylor or Tom Jones. He was one of the jurors at the ‘World Harmonica Festival’ in 2009.
The musicians’ joint project presents a mix of classical blues music, characteristic for Howling Wolf, with funk and soul, with a hint of gospel.
