PV Recycling and Collection: The WEEE Directive: New challenges and opportunities
PV modules have been subject to the WEEE Directive since 2012. Solar recycling will soon face a major challenge, as a huge wave of obsolete modules is expected to be seen from 2015 onward. According to the PV CYCLE network, figures could reach 35,000 metric tons per year by 2020. Germany, Spain and Italy are already leading the way in module recycling. The PV Recycling session answers any questions you may have on this topic.
